RSS feed validator.
Paste your RSS 2.0 or Atom feed and see what is wrong, what could be better, and how the first items will look to readers.
About this tool.
An RSS or Atom feed lets feed readers, email tools and other sites pick up your new posts. A feed breaks quietly: one missing tag, a badly formatted date or a repeated guid and readers can skip or duplicate posts. This tool checks that the XML is well-formed, that the required channel and item fields are present, that dates and links are valid, that every guid is unique, and shows a preview of the first items. Browsers do not allow a web page to fetch another website, so you paste the feed. It is read in your browser and nothing is uploaded.
- Open your feed address (for example /feed.xml), press Ctrl+U (or right-click and choose View page source), select all and copy.
- Paste it into the box, or upload the saved .xml file. The result appears straight away.
- Fix the problems in red first, then the suggestions in orange, and paste again to confirm.
Nothing is uploaded. The feed is read inside your browser. 1046 characters.
Paste your RSS 2.0 or Atom feed above to check it.
Good to know: This is a practical check of the rules that feed readers care about, not the official W3C validator. After you fix a feed, also open it in a real reader app. If you publish with a CMS or a static site generator, fix the template once and every future post is correct.
