Why your ads get clicks but no enquiries

Ads · 2 min read · Updated 29 Sept 2026

If people are clicking your ads but not contacting you, the ad is doing its job and something after the click is not. That is good news, because those problems are fixable.

₹Enquiries tracked
Every rupee of ad spend should be traceable from the click to the enquiry.

The landing page does not match the ad

If the ad promises a free audit and the visitor lands on a general home page, they have to search for the offer. Send each ad to a page that continues the same message, with one clear action.

The page is slow on mobile

Most ad clicks in India happen on phones. A page that takes several seconds to load loses people before they read anything, and you still pay for the click.

If people are clicking your ads but not contacting you, the ad is doing its job and something after the click is not.

The wrong people are clicking

  • Check the search terms report in Google Ads and add irrelevant words as negative keywords.
  • Narrow the location to the area you actually serve.
  • Make the ad text specific about price range, service and area, so casual clickers filter themselves out.

Contacting you is harder than it should be

A short form, a visible phone number and a WhatsApp button close to the top of the page remove most of the friction. Anything that asks for a lot of information before a first conversation lowers the number of people who finish.

Change one thing at a time, and give each change enough days to show a difference before deciding whether it worked.

A short example

Put it into practice.

  1. The problem

The ads bring clicks, but the phone stays quiet.

  2. Step 1

Check that the ad, the landing page and the offer say the same thing

  3. Step 2

Make the page load fast on mobile, with the call button visible

  4. Step 3

Look at search terms and remove the ones that bring the wrong people

  5. The plan

The plan: turn traffic you already pay for into enquiries, before spending more.
